Arson Task Force Checks 'Suspicious' Stamford Fire That Closed Bedford St. STAMFORD, Conn. -- A three-story building on Bedford Street that houses medical offices was badly damaged in a "suspicious" fire, possibly arson, early Tuesday, reported the Stamford Advocate. A Stamford arson task force and state officials with "an accelerant-sniffing dog" were investigating, Lt. Diedrich Hohn told the Stamford Advocate. Five fire engines, two ladder trucks and a rescue vehicle were dispatched to the two-alarm fire on Bedford Street, the Advocate reported. The center is a not-for-profit children's hospital.
