BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. -- Atria Briarcliff Manor chef, Matt Plumhoff, challenged local hero, Henry Lopez, a retired New York Police Department officer and current volunteer firefighter from Putnam Valley, to a Chef Showdown competition Tuesday.Watermelon was the "secret ingredient" and Plumhoff selected watermelon salsa for the competition's recipe, said a release.

WAYNE, N.J. -- A GoFundMe page has been established to help the family of a Wayne boy who has a rare bone cancer.So far, the the effort has raised $22,378 for Jake Rudd, a "funny, sweet, tough, kind-hearted and gentle" teen whose been diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a rare bone cancer.
