Dogs Will Soon Will Have A Place To Play In Stony Point STONY POINT, N.Y. -- Fencing has gone up at the dog park under construction at the entrance to Veterans Memorial Park, which could open in March. "The park still needs a parking lot," said Town Supervisor Jim Monaghan. The Stony Point Dog Park will have two sections, for large and small dogs, signage, benches for seating, a walkway with gravel, and plantings. "There will be toys for the dogs and landscaping as a barrier. We are looking into whether to have permits for the dogs to make sure they have been vaccinated. Dutchess To Receive $1.2M For Projects POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A parking facility in Poughkeepsie is among projects in nine municipalities receiving grants that total $1.2 million, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.Poughkeepsie will get $250,000 towards a $1.4 million project to repair the Financial Plaza Parking Deck, which has corrosion damage, said the newspaper. The grants are from the Municipal Consolidation & Shared Services Supplement Grant program, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal, citing a Dutchess County Executive's Office statement.
