Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Man Sentenced For Sex Assault On Bally's Hotel-Casino Housekeeper In Atlantic City A 36-year-old man from New York was sentenced to 42 years in New Jersey State Prison for the 2018 aggravated sexual assault of a Bally’s Hotel and Casino housekeeper, authorities said. The sentence follows a two-week trial culminating in the conviction by an Atlantic County jury of Jamel Carlton, of Saugerties, NY, on March 31, 2022.  In addition to sexual assault, Carlton was convicted on burglary and criminal restraint charges. Police, Bystanders Free Victim Trapped Underneath Car In Central Jersey Police and five bystanders lifted a car off an elderly pedestrian in Middlesex Borough, authorities said. On Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 12:12 p.m., Middlesex police received a 9-1-1 call reporting that a pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle near the Middlesex Post Office on Hawthorne Avenue.  Police arrived to find the victim, an 87-year-old woman, lying in the roadway, trapped underneath the vehicle. Driver Charged In Fatal Hit-Run Crash: Report A 25-year-old driver from Gloucester County has been charged in a fatal pedestrian crash, NJ Advance Media reported. Matthew Jefferson, of Deptford, then allegedly fled the scene of the crash, the outlet said. Killed was Paul Margand, 60, of Deptford Township, who was walking westbound on Cattel Road in Deptford at about 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, police said.
