Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Firefighters Battle Blaze At Elementary School In Burlington County Firefighters and police responded to a fire at a school in Mount Laurel, authorities said. The fire was reported at about 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22 at Parkway Elementary School on Ramblewood Parkway, according to Mount Laurel police. The school was evacuated and police reported there were no injuries. The fire was quickly brought under control, police said. The cause of the fire, contained to a music and art room, remains under investigation.

Police Seek Help ID'ing Witness To Fatal Pedestrian Crash Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a woman who may have witnessed a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. (See photo.) On Thursday, Dec. 8, at 5:42 p.m., Lindenwold police were dispatched to the 600 block of South White Horse Pike for a motor vehicle accident.  The pedestrian was identified as Dal B. Man, 35, Shot Dead In South Jersey A 35-year-old man from Gloucester County was shot to death in Cumberland County, authorities said. On Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 10:21 p.m., Vineland police responded to the 400 block of Landis Avenue for reported gunshots. Arriving Officers found the victim, Russell Workman, last known of Sewell, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office. Brooklyn Man Admits Shooting Another Man In Atlantic City A 31-year-old man from Brooklyn has admitted to shooting another man in Atlantic City. Neil Henry pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, resisting arrest and a weapons offense, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Henry admitted that on Aug. 28, he shot a man with a handgun and fled on foot from police officers. Hit-Run Driver Charged With Eluding Police In Burlington County A hit-and-run incident led to the arrest of a Burlington County man on eluding charges, authorities said. On Dec. 12, Evesham Twp. Patrol Officers responded to Route 70 and Troth Road for the report of a motor vehicle collision.  The responding officers identified the vehicle involved in the collision that had fled the scene and attempted a motor vehicle stop, police said.
