The Safest Hospitals On Long Island Just Dropped: See Who Made The Cut
A new hospital safety report released Wednesday, May 6 gave 12 of Long Island’s 23 hospitals an ‘A’ grade, while only one received a ‘D’.
The Leapfrog Group issued its twice-annual report on hospital safety throughout the country, and New York hospitals statewide were ranked 24th in the nation, according to the watchdog group.
But on Long Island, 12 hospitals received the top grade:

A New York man was arrested for threatening a woman with a gun during a domestic dispute, and another man was charged with punching two cops while interfering in the investigation, authorities said Wednesday, May 6.
Justin Talley, 47, was involved in a domestic altercation in Albany and menaced a woman with a handgun on Tuesday night, May 5, the Albany Police Department said.

A Long Island man was killed while walking through a parking lot Wednesday morning, May 6, police said.
Silverio Saldana Trejo, 60, was struck by a 2022 Ford F-150 at a 7-Eleven in Center Moriches, the Suffolk County Police Department said. The Center Moriches resident was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Freeport Fire Department responded to the blaze on Raynor Street on Tuesday, May 5.
