A fraudulent Long Island contractor took $68,000 for a home improvement project, then never did any work, police said.
Brian Draizin, 65, of Boynton Beach, FL, first struck the deal with a 38-year-old homeowner in December 2024, the Nassau County Police Department said Thursday, Sept. 3.
Draizin owned and ran Next Generation Modular Homes & Additions Inc. in Farmingdale and cashed a $68,512 check from the victim, police said. But he never even started any renovations or work on the client’s home, according to authorities.

Robert M. Seitz, of Lewistown, PA, was pulled over around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2 on U.S. Route 11 south of De Kalb, NY, according to state police. Inside his trailer, troopers found multiple horses “tagged for transport to Canada for slaughter,” investigators said.

A Long Island teenager was arrested for punching another young woman in the face early Thursday, Sept. 3, police said.
Ceinaa Jayde Adena Curtis, 19, of Freeport, got into an argument with a 20-year-old woman just before 1 a.m. in Westbury, the Nassau County Police Department said.
Curtis punched the woman in the face multiple times, shoved her to the ground, then kicked her multiple times and knocked her unconscious, cops said. She then fled the scene, according to investigators.

Jennifer Siatkowski, 35, of Schenectady, was traveling on Lake Road through Ballston on Friday, Aug. 21 around 5 p.m., the Saratoga County Sheriff’s office said Sunday, Aug. 23.
Siatkowski was behind the wheel of a 2013 Hyundai headed westbound when she left the road and hit the pole, investigators said. First responders arrived and treated her for non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

Vincent M. Patrick, 41, of Troy, was cuffed Sunday, Aug. 23 on a warrant out of Halfmoon Town Court, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s office said.
Patrick entered a credit union in Halfmoon on Feb. 2 with a falsified check for $4,853.91 and plans to defraud the establishment, investigators said. He did not succeed, according to authorities.

A Long Island man pleaded guilty to giving crack cocaine to a 14-year-old girl as part of a sprawling sex trafficking case on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
Robert Knowles, 64, of Bay Shore, cut a plea deal in the case, copping to child endangerment in exchange for a 364-day jail term, Newsday reported. He faced a top count of second-degree rape, which he repeatedly denied.
