Vernon Man Charged In Hartford Homicide A Vernon man is behind bars after police charged him with the killing of a 38-year-old Hartford resident. Xavier Soto, 34, is charged with murder, criminal use of a firearm, risk of injury to a child, and first-degree reckless endangerment, Hartford Police said.  Officers were called to the 300 block of Broadview Terrace around 6:50 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, after reports of gunfire, according to Hartford police. 17-Year-Old Hit By Car In Bristol Taken To Hospital: Police A 17-year-old boy is recovering after being struck by a car while walking in Bristol on Wednesday morning, Sept. 17. The unidentified teen was in the 200 block of King Street (Route 229) around 6:20 a.m. when he was hit by a vehicle, Bristol police said. Paramedics took him to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to police. Bristol officers temporarily shut down part of King Street during the investigation, reopening it around 9:30 a.m. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.

Bridgeport Man Fighting For Life After Crashing Motorcycle Into Tree A Bridgeport man is fighting for his life after crashing his motorcycle into a tree, police said. Responders rushed to the 900 block of Briarwood Avenue in Bridgeport just after 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, when callers reported a man on the ground who was not responding. Police said the 32-year-old rider hit the curb, struck a tree, and suffered serious injuries. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The crash remains under investigation.

The store will get a $10,000 bonus for the sale.

Police ID Child Who Sent Threatening Message To Darien High School Police have tracked a threatening social media post directed at Darien High School to a child in Arkansas.  The unnamed juvenile referenced a firearm in an Instagram post that mentioned Darien High. It's unclear why he chose the school for the threat.  Darien detectives worked with the FBI, Meta, and the Connecticut Intelligence Center to track the location of the post.  Darien school officials placed the high school on a two-hour delay before canceling classes for the day.  It's unclear what charges the child accused of making the post will face.
