Man, 56, Fatally Struck By Metro-North Train In Wappingers Falls A 56-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a Metro-North Railroad train in Dutchess County.  The incident happened at around 8:54 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, when Metro-North train #875 hit the man north of the Bank Street crossing in Wappingers Falls between the Beacon and New Hamburg stations, an MTA spokesperson told Daily Voice.  The man, who had not been authorized to be on the tracks, was pronounced dead by Empress EMS at 9:25 p.m.  He was identified as Matthew J.
