Back For More: Repeat Robber Pleads Guilty To Hitting Same Albany Store Twice
A New York man pleaded guilty to robbing the same convenience store he was previously convicted of robbing six years earlier, authorities announced Wednesday, July 1.
Willie Buxton, 50, of Albany, pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted robbery in exchange for a sentence of 16 years to life, the Albany County District Attorney’s office said.
Buxton entered an Xtra Mart at 247 New Scotland Avenue around 8 a.m. on Nov. 26, 2025, flashed a knife and demanded cash from the store clerk, authorities said. The worker handed over $300, and Buxton ran away, according to investigators.

A New York man attacked two teenagers with a machete on an Albany street, police said.
Eber Lopez, 36, was arrested after wounding an 18-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy in the incident on Tuesday, June 30, the Albany Police Department said.
Lopez was in an argument with the 18-year-old on First Street near North Lake Avenue that escalated into an altercation, cops said.
During the altercation, Lopez swung a machete at the young man, resulting in lacerations to his head, investigators said.
