Charles S. Vollers was born in the Bronx on April 17, 1941 and died on June 24 in Lansing, MI, following surgical complications.
He was raised in Yorktown Heights, where his first jobs were behind the counter at the local pharmacy and at the Sparkle Lake Tea Room. He graduated from Yorktown High School in 1958 and attended Alfred University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ceramic Engineering. While at Alfred, he met the love of his life and future wife, a nursing student, Judith Doyle.

TJ was born on June 18, 1989 in Yorktown Heights, NY. He was the son of James and Mary (Hand) Lee. He graduated from Yorktown High School in 2007. Sol Krongelb, Developed Innovative Technology At IBM, Longtime Member of Yorktown Jewish Center
Sol Krongelb died on Monday, Nov. 11, surrounded by his family, following a brief illness.
Sol was born on Aug. 15, 1932 in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Benjamin and Anna Bloom Krongelb.
In 1953, Sol married his high school sweetheart, Gladys Anne Steinfeld. Sol and Gladys moved to Cambridge, MA, where they both pursued advanced degrees. In 1959, the couple built a home in Somers, and there they raised their three children. Sol and Gladys enjoyed many activities and interests together until Gladys’ passing in 2004.

Firefighters are battling a large fire at the former Gucci Estate in Northern Westchester
The fire began around 6 a.m., Friday, Nov. 8, at the 5,300-square-foot home located in Yorktown Heights at 1230 Baptist Church Road.
Firefighters are having to truck in water as no fire hydrants are located in the area.
Information on Zillow said the home has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, an au pair suite, as well as a one-bedroom guest house. The 11-acre estate also has a pool, a double-sided paddock, professional tennis court, gazebo with a pond, and a waterfall and stream.

Thomas Panek, president and CEO of Yorktown Heights-based non-profit Guiding Eyes for the Blind, has been a runner his whole life.
“I ran on my cross-country team in high school; it was around that time that I began losing more and more of my vision,” recalled Panek. “I would always follow the runner in front of me, afraid to get out in front, but I kept getting hurt.”
