Man Pleads Guilty To 7-Stop Crime Spree, Carjacking
The man who stuck a gun into a woman’s neck carjacked her vehicle and went on a crime spree has pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Arno Smith, 57, of Hartford, pleaded guilty to one charge of a Hobbs Act robbery, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Connecticut, said. Hobbs applies in instances of interstate or foreign attempted or real robbery.
Between the time of the carjacking and his arrest, Smith robbed 7 places including grocery stores, rental facilities, retailers, and an inn, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

The downpour that soaked the region deposited 2-4 inches of rainfall in Connecticut communities, but still, much of North Eastern Connecticut is experiencing extreme drought.

Ridership is down by 80 percent at Bradley International Airport, causing officials to worry about losing major airlines.
Meanwhile, revenue is down $10 million below budget, according to WFSB.

Woman Arrested In Shooting Death of 16-Year-Old Windsor Locks Teen; Accomplice At Large
A woman has been arrested in relation to the killing of an unarmed 16-year-old boy at Pesci Park in Windsor Locks.
Sydney Witchard, 19, was recently arrested in West Columbia, South Carolina, Windsor Locks Police said. She will be charged with hindering police work, police said. She will be held on a $45,000 bond.
The other suspect police have in the murder, Daniel P. Baez, 22, of Hartford, is still at large, police said.
Elijah Ortega, 16, was killed on June 24 in the park. Witchard allegedly set up a meeting between Baez and Ortega when the teen was killed.
