A scheme to falsify tax records went wrong for a former cop in Connecticut, who owes the IRS nearly $400,000 and will spend time behind bars after filing a falsified tax return. CT Woman Who Embezzled $190K From Employer Sentenced
A Connecticut woman is heading to prison after pleading guilty to embezzling nearly $200,000 from her employer and failing to pay income tax on that income. A Connecticut doctor who pleaded guilty to her role in a scheme to defraud Medicaid of more than $200,000 has been sentenced in district court. John Durham the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced on Wednesday that Windsor resident Beverly Coker, 70, who ran New Beginnings Family Center, a behavioral health practice in Hartford, has been sentenced to five years probation after she pleaded guilty to one count of health care fraud for her role in the scheme. CT State Police Seek Tips On Fatal Truck-Pedestrian Crash
Connecticut State Police are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed a pedestrian fatality involving a tractor-trailer on I-91. State police said that at about 6:48 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, troopers responded to I-91 southbound near exit 35 in Windsor. Upon their arrival, troopers found a juvenile female pedestrian suffering from life-threatening injuries after being struck by a tractor-trailer. Heavy Rain, Strong Winds, Downed Trees Snarl Morning Commute
Periods of heavy rain, combined with strong winds, resulted in delays throughout Fairfield County during the Monday morning commute with downed trees also being reported. Downed trees closed two roads in Greenwich: Davis Avenue at Wilbur Peck Court and Glenville Road closed between Midwood Road and Valley Drive. A jackknifed tractor-trailer crashed blocking I-91 lanes in both directions between Exits 38 and 40 in Windsor. (See second image above.)
