Dunkin', McDonald's, Subway Franchisees Fined $226K+ For Child Labor Violations In MA
The owners of nearly 90 Dunkin', McDonald's, and Subway restaurants across Massachusetts have been fined for violating child labor laws, officials said.
The three franchisees were cited for violating child labor laws at more than 88 locations, Attorney General Andrea Campbell said in a news release on Tuesday, April 15. The companies punished were Cafua Management Company, The Brewster Company, and Knight Food Service.
The trio faces a combined $226,385 in penalties under separate settlements with the fair labor division of the attorney general's office.

Police ID Weymouth Man Killed Crossing Busy Street In Quincy
Authorities have identified the man who was hit by a car while crossing the street in Quincy earlier this week. He died of his injuries a day after the crash.
William Jacobs, 58, of Weymouth, was hit on Southern Artery near Broad Street in Quincy around 7 p.m. Monday, March 17, the Norfolk District Attorney's Office said.
Paramedics rushed him to an area hospital, but doctors were unable to save his life. He died Tuesday morning, the prosecutor's office said.
The driver, an 82-year-old Quincy man, remained at the scene and was not injured, police said.

Alexia "Lexi" Nixon, of Weymouth, succumbed to her injuries Tuesday night, Dec. 10, at Boston Medical Center, days after the Dec. 1. collision near 655 Union Street, the Norfolk District Attorney's Office said.

The roommate of a woman found slain in Weymouth on Monday, April 1, and her boyfriend have been arrested on financial crimes police discovered while investigating the killing, authorities said.
Kelly Shaw, age 44, and her boyfriend John “Jack” Harper, 45, will be arraigned Thursday, April 4, on charges of theft valued over $1,200, uttering forged checks, and other offenses, authorities said.

Two New York men are accused of staging at least eight fake robberies so the store owners could receive immigration benefits, authorities said.
Long Island resident Rambhai Patel, age 36, of Farmingdale, and New York City Balwinder Singh, age 39, of Queens, are charged with conspiracy to commit visa fraud, the U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts said. FBI agents said they linked the men to four robberies in Massachusetts, two in Pennsylvania, and one in Kentucky and Tennessee.

Man, 41, Killed In Weymouth Multi-Car Crash ID'd By Police
Massachusetts State Police have identified the man killed in an early morning Thursday, Sept. 29, crash in Norfolk County.
Adam Fallon, 41, of Whitman, was killed around 5 a.m. when his 2014 Mazda CX5 was involved in a three-vehicle crash in the southbound lane of Route 3 near exit 38B in Weymouth, State Police said.
Paramedics took Fallon to South Shore Hospital, where he later died.
Police did not say if the drivers of the 2016 Smart Fortwo and the 2011 Chevrolet Trailblazer, who were also involved in the wreck, were injured.

A 36-year-old Norfolk County woman was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 2, and charged with stealing $1.3 million from her former employer, authorities said.
Ashley Sumner, of Weymouth, is charged with larceny over $1,200, two counts of improper use of a credit card over $1,200, four counts of identity fraud, and one count of money laundering, Holbrook police said. She was being held on a $100,000 bond.
