A Mercedes getaway car loaded with stolen groceries turned a Maryland theft into a crash-and-chase case, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the suspects — Lonnell Demontae Jennings, 27, and Khadijah Tufaye Spurlock, 24, both of Washington, DC — stuffed a shopping cart with about $1,200 worth of detergent, meat, and other items from a Waldorf grocery store before trying to make a quick escape.

Two convicted felons tied to drug trafficking outside a busy strip of Maryland businesses were busted with guns, ammo, and cannabis, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the Neighborhood Enforcement Team launched an investigation in June 2025 after repeated complaints about drug trafficking in the 300 block of Smallwood Drive in Waldorf.
