A town in Northern Westchester will be stepping up police patrols in an effort to curb an increase in vehicle theft incidents, officials announced. The town of Mount Pleasant will soon have an increased police presence in residential neighborhoods and commercial areas, Supervisor Carl Fulgenzi announced on Friday, Oct. 13. An update has just been released on the conditions of five students who suffered critical injuries after a charter bus crashed down a 50-foot ravine, killing two adults on board, late last week in the Hudson Valley. The crash happened on westbound I-84 in Orange County at 1:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, in the town of Wawayanda, near Exit 15. A driver had to be freed from their vehicle following a crash near a parkway in Northern Westchester. The incident happened on Wednesday, Sept. 20 around 6 a.m., when emergency crews in Valhalla responded to a crash on Grasslands Road near the Sprain Brook Parkway off-ramp.
