An Amherst man who was convicted of sharing child sexual abuse material will spend at least four and a half years in prison, authorities announced on Thursday, Dec. 28. Blake Lassiter pleaded guilty to possession of child sexual abuse material, nine counts of dissemination of child sexual abuse material, and one count of possession with intent to distribute child sexual abuse material, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. The U.S. Coast Guard has identified the source of an oil spills that caused mysterious tar balls to wash up on beaches from Sea Bright south to Asbury Park. Vane Brothers Company, as represented by Gallagher Marine Systems, has been identified as the responsible party, the Coast Guard said in a news release. U.S. Coast Guard Rescues 3 From Grounded Sailboat In South Jersey
A trio of sailors was rescued from a grounded sailboat early Thursday, Nov. 30 in Little Bay, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. A Coast Guard helicopter was used to airlift the sailors to the U.S. Coast Guard station in Atlantic City, they said. There, an EMS crew took the trio to an area hospital, the Coast Guard said.
