A 71-year-old woman suffering breathing problems died on a Newark-bound flight from Frankfurt, reports say. United Airlines crew members administered oxygen and used a defibrillator on the woman, with several people taking turns doing CPR for nearly 40 minutes last Wednesday, passenger Adam Lisberg told the Irish Sun. The plane made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport in Ireland, where the woman was met by emergency medical crews, Fox News reports. The woman was pronounced dead after the flight landed. A United Airlines employee was hospitalized after the wheel of a passenger bridge rolled over his leg at Newark Airport. The 34-year-old employee had to be extricated after the wheel of the "jet bridge" at Terminal C's Gate 88 rolled over his leg just after 7 p.m. Wednesday, the Port Authority's Steve Coleman said. Newark: Passenger Deploys Emergency Exit Chute, Says He Got On Wrong Plane
A passenger who said he'd boarded the wrong plane at Newark Airport opened an emergency door and deployed an exit slide, said police who arrested him Sunday night. United Airlines Flight 1640 flight bound for Tampa was still at the Terminal C gate when 25-year-old Troy Fattun of Minnesota became disorderly around 10 p.m., the Port Authority's Joseph Pentangelo said. Man Who Groped Girl On Newark Flight Gets 90 Days In Fed Pen
An Indian national who admitted that he groped a teenage girl on a flight to Newark from Seattle was sentenced Friday to 90 days in federal prison. Vijaykumar Krishnappa, 29, got the maximum Friday after pleading guilty in early November to assault in the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States in exchange for a sentence of 30 to 90 days.
