An 83-year-old woman from the region was killed after falling 50 feet fell down an embankment while doing yardwork. The accident took place in Ulster County in the Town of Esopus around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31. The woman was found when deputies responded to a home on New Salem Road for the report of an elderly woman who had fallen down an embankment, said Lt. Threat Leads To Lockdown At Schools In Hudson Valley After Student 'Jokes' About Having Gun
A junior high school and an elementary school were placed in lockdown in the Hudson Valley after a student "joked" about having a gun. The incident took place in Ulster County around 10:40 a.m., Thursday, May 26. Man Accused Of Threatening To Blow Up Building In Area, Police Say
An area man who was mad at his social service caseworker allegedly threatened to blow up a building. Ulster County resident Evan Carlaw, age 47, of Kingston, was arrested on Friday, March 4, and charged with making a terroristic threat and aggravated harassment. Deputies arrested Carlaw after he became upset while speaking with a social service caseworker over the phone and then made threats to blow up the building, the Ulster County Sheriff's Office said.
