Isaias Outage Update: Latest Rundown Of Most-Affected Towns In Litchfield
Eversource has been making progress restoring power to customers in Connecticut who lost after Tropical Isaias barreled through the region.
A total of 240,590 of 1,281,259 Eversource customers (18.8 percent) are still without power as of 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8.
Here's the latest breakdown of active power outages in Litchfield County, according to Eversource:
New Milford: 6,427 (46 percent of customers)
Winchester: 2,783 (45.3 percent of customers)
Woodbury: 2,337 (45 percent of customers)

About 320,000 customers in Connecticut remain without power as of Saturday morning, Aug. 8 - four days after Tropical Isaias swept through the region.

Of those outages, about 291,000 are in the Eversource service area.
Nearly 1,200 crews – including mutual aid from out-of-state – were continuing to repair the widespread damage to the electric system on Friday, Aug. 7, an increase of approximately 500 crews from Thursday, Aug. 6, Eversource said.

Man Accused Of Starting Fires At Two CT Homes, Police Say
As firefighters responded to three house fires, police arrested a 36-year-old man for allegedly starting two of the blazes.
The call for the first fire was received around 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, in Litchfield County, at a two-story, cape style single-family home in Torrington, said Torrington Police Lt. Brett Johnson.
When the Torrington Fire Department arrived on the scene of the fire on Torrinford West Street, they found the residence fully engulfed in flames, as well as a Honda vehicle in the driveway, Torrington Fire Chief Peter Towey said.

As of Thursday morning, April 23, Fairfield County has a total of 9,883 cases, accounting for 44 percent of the state's total.
