Luke John Oberle, 72, died on Nov. Thursday, 11 in Goldsboro, NC.
Luke was born on August 14, 1949 in Edgewater, NJ, and raised in Franklin Square, Long Island and Croton-on-Hudson, NY. At Hendrick Hudson High School, Luke performed in several musicals and plays including “Oklahoma” and “Anastasia” and was cast as Buffalo Bill in “Annie Get Your Gun.” His passion for theater continued at Harpur College, Binghamton University where he majored in Cinema Arts. A quaint Westchester village took center stage in New York’s most prominent newspaper as it was featured in a special section of The New York Times.
Despite its modest size, Tarrytown, a village in the town of Greenburgh, was featured in the Times’ “Living In” section, which highlighted the area’s art scene, schools, quirks, and diversity.
“The Westchester village is only three square miles, but it has a better racial and socioeconomic mix than most of its neighbors along the river,” author C. J. Hughes wrote.
