A teenager in Maryland will be charged as an adult after allegedly murdering a 17-year-old girl in Suitland, authorities announced. On Monday, Aug. 29, the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit announced that a 17-year-old man from Suitland has been arrested and charged in the death of Ter’Nijah Ryals on Sunday, Aug. 28. At approximately 1:50 p.m. on Sunday night, officers from the department responded to the 3300 block of Curtis Drive for a reported shooting. Police are offering a reward in connection to the killing of a Capitol Heights man after a shooting in Suitland, authorities say. Officers responding to a shooting in the 4000 block of Silver Hill Road located Marco Sawyer, 32, suffering from gunshot wounds around 4:40 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 23, according to Prince George's County police. Investigators said that Sawyer was unresponsive on the scene, and was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later. Officials have identified the young woman killed in an early morning vehicle crash in Suitland, authorities say. Shanya Hoover, 20, was killed in a two-vehicle collision on the 3500 block of Regency Parkway around 1:30 a.m., Thursday, July 7, according to the Prince George's County Police Department. Initial investigation revealed that Hoover was driving north when her vehicle crossed the double yellow line, striking a car traveling south on Regency Parkway. Prince George's County Police are offering up to $2,500 to anyone with information about a man believed to be behind multiple recent homicides in the county. Malique Harden, 21, of Suitland, is wanted for killing Michael Hawkins, 58, of Washington DC in his apartment in the 3800 block of St. Barnabas Road on Feb. 27, police said.
