Community Mourns Death Of 'Compassionate' School Leader; Crash Under Investigation
The community is mourning the loss of a "compassionate," "funny," and "responsive" area school leader while State Police are investigating the crash that killed him.
The accident happened on Friday, Nov. 27, around 7:30 p.m. at the corner of Kettletown and Southford Roads in Southbury.
Mark Kibby of Granby, 52, of Granby, the assistant principal at CREC Academy of Aerospace and Engineering Elementary School in Rocky Hill, was reportedly riding his motorcycle when he died.

Extreme Tree-Hugger Accused Of 'Humping' Nature In Stranger's Backyard
Police arrested a man accused of “humping trees” in a stranger’s backyard.
On Nov. 12 at around 3 p.m., Naugatuck Police responded to a report of an “unknown male in a backyard, half-dressed, humping trees, screaming, and eating branches,” police said.
When police arrived on the scene, High Street, the suspect allegedly ran into a nearby home causing the residents to flee, police said. The suspect came out of the home and was arrested, police said.
During the incident the suspect also allegedly spat at and assaulted police officers, police said.

Greenwich HS Grad From Newtown Killed In I-84 Wrong-Way Crash
Funeral services have been set for a Newtown business owner and Greenwich High School graduate who was one of two people killed in a wrong-way crash on I-84.
According to Connecticut State Police, Diego Fernando Jimenez, 48, of Newtown, died following a wrong-way crash around 1 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, on I-84 in Southbury.
State Police said the crash occurred when David Hozer, 46, of Southbury, was traveling the wrong way on westbound I-84 when his 2011 Audi Q5 struck a limousine Jimenez was driving.
