Three People, Including Juvenile, Nabbed On Gun Charges During Western Mass Stop, Police Say
Three Western Massachusetts residents, including a juvenile, have been arrested on gun charges after police allegedly found a firearm, stun gun, and shell casings during a traffic stop.
The incident took place around 2:15 p.m., Wednesday, June 30, when an alert was sent to officers of a suspect vehicle heading east on Boston Road, in Springfield.
During the stop, officers immediately spotted a firearm, which later determined to be a BB gun, on the car's floor, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police.

Western Mass Armed Robbery Suspect Nabbed Minutes After Crime, Police Say
An alleged Western Massachusetts attempted armed robber was caught just minutes after the crime by police patrolling the area.
Jose Diaz, age 28,was captured around 6 a.m., Sunday, June 27, in Springfield.
Diaz, of Springfield, was captured after officers received a call for an armed robbery in progress on Armory Street, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police.
Police were able to locate Diaz and the knife he allegedly used in the attempted armed robbery, police said.

Police in Western Mass allegedly busted a 23-year-old man and two others with three guns, including a ghost gun during a traffic stop.
The stop took place around 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, when Springfield Police Narcotics detectives working on an unrelated investigation in the East Forest Park area when they spotted Milan Brown, of Springfield, with a clearly visible large capacity style magazine of a firearm protruding from his waistband, said the Springfield Police.

Western Mass Man Out On Bail Busted For Second Time For Heroin Trafficking, Police Say
A Western Mass man who has been out on bail for trafficking in heroin has been busted again, police said.
Jorge Diaz, age 64, of Springfield, was arrested on Tuesday, May 11, by Springfield Police after he was nabbed with 2,8000 bags of heroin, cocaine, and more than $8,000 in cash, said the Springfield Police.
On Wednesday, May 12, police seized an additional $40,6000 from Diaz's safety deposit box with a warrant, police said.
Diaz was out on bail from an October arrest where Springfield Police Narcotics detectives seized nearly 30,000 bags of heroin.
