Two people have been arrested in connection with the alleged vandalism of a mural dedicated to the victims of the Sandy Hook school massacre.
Lorenzo Cavallo, age 20, of Plainville, and Gina Lombardi, age 21, of Bristol, turned themselves into Southington Police on Tuesday, Jan. 19, for the incident which took place on Sunday, Nov. 29, in Southington.

Covid-19: Week-to-Week Cases Drop In 34 Connecticut Communities - Town-Level Data
In a bit of good news, the number of COVID-19 cases recorded went down from week-to-week in 34 Connecticut communities including Fairfield, West Haven, Simsbury, Hamden, Trumbull, and North Haven.
Meanwhile, the number of cases in 121 Connecticut cities and towns went up from the week of Nov. 22 to the week of Dec. 5. For 14 communities, including New Haven, there was no change. Places with populations over 20,000 people that had the highest case increase rates were Rocky Hill, Mansfield, Southington, Windham, and Newington.

Covid-19 - 100 Connecticut Communities On "Red" List - Local Rates, Trends
The number of “red" communities in Connecticut has reached 100, according to the most recent state data, Thursday, Nov. 12.
Infection rates have been rising in Connecticut dramatically. There are now 100 cities and towns with the highest daily averages of newly reported COVID-19 cases.
Last week, Thursday, Nov. 5, there were 67 red communities.
And the week before that, Oct. 29, there were 30.

One Suspect Arrested, The Other Dead Following Armed Mugging
Police have arrested one of two suspects involved in an armed mugging over the summer - the other suspect is dead.
On Oct. 28, Karon Grimes, 19, of New Britain, was arrested on the charges of robbery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit robbery in the first degree, larceny third-degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree, Southington Police said.
Grimes is being held on a $350,000 bond.
The arrest stems from an incident on Aug. 21 just before midnight in the area of Mark Drive in Southington, police said.
