Daytime Lane Closures Scheduled On I-87 Near Tappan Zee Bridge For Days
There will be daytime lane closures for several days on the Rockland-bound New York State Thruway next week as contracting crews continue work in the area. Tappan Zee Constructors announced that they will continue roadway improvements near the new Tappan Zee Bridge, which will require single-lane closures on I-87/I-287. Beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, there will be one left northbound lane closed from exit 8 to exit 10. A woman who allegedly drove towards police officers and fled before crashing following a domestic dispute was arrested in Newburgh. The incident took place around 5:23 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, after City of Newburgh officers responded to an address on Benkard Avenue for a domestic dispute, said City of New Police Det. Lt. Two suspects -- one from Poughkeepsie and the other from Arlington -- have been charged with murder following the drive-by shooting of a 40-year-old man in Newburgh late Friday night, Jan. 25. Just before 10:30 p.m., the City of Newburgh Police Department received a “Shot Spotter” activation for the area of 9 Hasbrouck Street indicating nine rounds had been fired. A routine traffic stop by a City of Newburgh police officer and his K-9 partner turned into a high-speed pursuit after the vehicle refused to stop. The incident took place around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, when Officer Ricardo Rivera, and his K-9 partner Bane, attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the area of Carson and S. Lander Street, said Det. Rockland Man Nabbed For DWI During Route 9W Traffic Stop
A 36-year-old man was arrested for DWI following a traffic stop by the Rockland County Sheriff's Office on Route 9W. Jose Remigiopena, of Haverstraw, was arrested around 1:27 a.m. Monday after a sheriff's deputy stopped him for a traffic violation, said the Sheriff's Office. During the stop, Remigiopena was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for operation of a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol level of .08% or more and DWI. He was processed and released on a summons to return to West Haverstraw Justice Court on Nov. 27.

Police are searching for a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist seriously injured on Route 9W. The incident occurred just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Piermont when a bicyclist was struck by a large white box truck. 20-Year-Old Who Went Missing In Hudson Valley Never Arrived At Expected Location
The family of a 20-year-old is asking the public's help in locating the man who never arrived at his expected location on Friday, July 27 after departing from the Hudson Valley late in the afternoon. Eily Wright left Hyde Park on Friday, July 27 shortly before 6 p.m., his family said. He was due to arrive at the family home in Pennsylvania by 10 p.m., but did not. He is 5-foot-11 with dark hair and blue eyes. He was driving a 2001 VW Jetta.
