Man Killed When Car, Tractor-Trailer Crash On Route 9
One person was killed after the vehicle he was driving crashed with a tractor-trailer on Route 9, taking down multiple power lines and closing the roadway for hours.
The incident in Putnam County took place around 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, when the unidentified man, driving a white Jeep, collied with the truck as he turned left off Snake Hill Roa in Garrison, said Putnam County Sheriff's Office Capt. Lisa Ortolano.
During the crash, the tractor-trailer flipped, causing the power lines to fall.

Numerous fire departments are on the scene of a huge fire that has broken out at a popular Northern Westchester diner that has also closed parts of Route 9.
The fire, at the Landmark Diner, at 265 Highland Ave., in Briarcliff Manor, began around 9:45 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 22, said the Briarcliff Police Department.

A convicted felon nearly died from an overdose after taking New York State Police troopers on a high-speed chase through Northern Westchester.
Troopers from the Cortlandt barracks and the FBI's’ Safe Streets Task Force attempted to stop Brooklyn resident Patrick Williams, 31, at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Route 9 in Cortlandt, when he committed a vehicle and traffic violation.

25-Year-Old Killed In Two-Vehicle Route 9 Crash
A 25-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash that occurred on a stretch of Route 9 on early Saturday morning, April 13, in Putnam County.
At approximately 6:20 a.m., state police responded to northbound Route 9 north of State Route 301 in Philipstown.
An initial investigation found that a 2018 Dodge Challenger operated by Isaiah Byars, age 25, of Derry, NH, was northbound on Route 9, and for unknown reasons entered the southbound lane, state police said.
