Police have released surveillance photos of a van believed to have been used to steal BMW rims from a Rockland business. Ramapo PD detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a Ford Ecoline van that was used at approximately 1 a.m. on April 16 to steal the rims from a business. Police said the suspect vehicle - which is believed to be a model from between 1991 to 2004 - was dark in color. Rockland Gang Member's Accomplice Gets 3 Years In Cabbie Carjacking
The confessed accomplice of a Rockland gang member was sent to federal prison for three years Wednesday for smashing a carjacked cab driver in the head with a beer bottle before others dumped the victim on the side of the New York State Thruway in Orange County. Arlyn Jowany Carrasco Cruz, 28, will have to serve just about all of the sentence because there is no parole in the federal prison system. Cruz and five accomplices carjacked the driver of a 2008 Dodge Caravan in the early morning hours of Dec. 26, 2016, in Ridgewood, N.J., forcing him into the back of the vehicle, authorities said.…

Wanted Spring Valley Man Nabbed In New Jersey
A 31-year-old Rockland man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after a traffic stop in New Jersey, authorities said Friday. Mario McIntyre of Spring Valley was stopped by police in Fair Lawn, NJ, before dawn on March 14 because of a defective problem with his lights, authorities said. A computer check turned up a warrant out of the Passaic County, NJ town of Hawthorne, Fair Lawn Sgt. Brian Metzler said. McIntyre was issued a summons for improper maintenance of vehicle lamps and released after posting bail on the outstanding warrant, the sergeant said.

Ramapo Police On Scene Of Numerous Crashes
Police in Rockland are warning motorists to stay off the roads if possible due to slick driving conditions and numerous vehicle crashes being reported. At 9 a.m. Tuesday, Ramapo officials said they were on the scene of so many crashes, mostly minor, that they couldn't count the number. The crash pictured took place around 8 a.m. in the New Hempstead area of the town. Police are asking drivers to leave plenty of room between the vehicle in front, so there is no need to swerve or jam on the brakes with the slippery conditions.
