Authorities ID Motorcyclist Killed In Route 4 Crash With Deer
Authorities on Wednesday released the identity of the motorcyclist killed in Monday's Route 4 crash in Teaneck. Albert Spechar, of River Vale, struck a deer while heading east at Teaneck Road just before 5:45 a.m., Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the accident and no criminal charges were brought, Musella said. A motorcyclist from River Vale was killed when he struck a deer on Route 4 in Teaneck before dawn Monday. Albert Spechar, 58, was ejected and landed in the middle of the roadway of the eastbound highway after hitting a four-point buck shortly after 5:30 a.m., responders said. River Vale police welcomed two new alternate-route officers – both of whom had been scholastic athletes -- to their ranks. Officer Kimberly Pane grew up in River Vale and Westwood and was graduated from Montclair State University. River Vale Man, 79, Hospitalized With Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound
A 79-year-old River Vale man was hospitalized after shooting himself on Thursday, authorities said. He was reported in stable condition at Hackensack University Medical Center following the noontime incident on Central Avenue.
