Fire Races Through North Arlington Home Under Renovation
Firefighters doused a stubborn blaze that ravaged a North Arlington home that neighbors said was being renovated. The fire ignited in the two-story, wood-frame home on Union Avenue between 3rd and 4th streets shortly before 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22. The Broad Theater in Souderton is back to its cinematic glory. The once-single-screen movie theater that opened in 1922 and shut in 2006 has reopened following a series of renovations. McDonald’s in Hackettstown will soon close for renovations. Kiosk ordering, a tandem drive-thru with digitalized menu boards as well as both interior and exterior updates are all planned for the Mountain Avenue restaurant. A wall buckled Monday in a Clifton building that until last summer had been a tavern for 72 years -- raising concerns that a complete collapse could follow.
