A 33-year-old Paterson police officer is facing charges for his role in an assault that happened at a local lounge, and a subsequent motor vehicle stop in which he was DUI, officials said. Valentin Torres was off duty when he was handed a gun by Jonathan Cristobal at Mancora Lounge around 2 a.m. on Aug. 23, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. Atlantic City police were crediting automated license plate readers for helping arrest two men with a gun and a stolen vehicle, authorities said. Daniel Ringgold, 37, of Pennsauken, was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 19, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release on Friday, Sept. 27. Atlantic City police arrested 43-year-old David Toney, the department said in a news release on Thursday, Sept. 12.
