Man Wins $5 Million In NY Lottery
Louis DeMayo said it simply and best after claiming a $5,000,000 prize in the New York State Lottery.
"It feels good," said the Long Island resident, who lives in Port Jefferson Station.
DeMayo claimed the prize from the New York Lottery’s $300,000,000 World Class Cash scratch-off game, the New York State Lottery announced on Wednesday, Nov. 17.
DeMayo opted to receive his $5,000,000 prize as a single lump-sum payment of $3,255,000 after required withholdings.
The ticket was purchased at Maakrupa Super Stop at 200A Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst.

ID Released For Person Killed In DWI Long Island Crash
A man killed in a Long Island crash involving a drunk driver has been identified by police.
Port Jefferson Station resident Jason Hank, age 24, was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla northbound on Route 112, approximately 1,000 feet south of Pine Road in Coram when he struck a man shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, Suffolk County Police said.
The victim, now ID'd as Glenn Ohlinger, age 66, of Coram, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Nassau County Man Shot After Leaving Long Island Party
Police detectives are investigating a shooting that took place outside a Long Island residence.
Officers in Suffolk County responded to 95 Pine St., in Port Jefferson Station, after a 911 call reported a man shot at 11:40 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 17.
When officers arrived they found Nassau County resident Angel Bermudez, of Freeport, in the backyard with two gunshot wounds, police said.
Bermudez, age 26, had left a party inside the residence when he was shot.
He was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition, police said.

Long Island Woman, Age 25, Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash
A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash overnight on Long Island.
It happened on Wednesday, June 23 at approximately 8:40 p.m. in Yaphank.
Candice Ogiejko, age 25, of Port Jefferson Station, was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram northbound on County Road 101, when the vehicle veered toward the center grass median, Suffolk County Police said.
When the driver overcorrected, she lost control of the vehicle, which skidded across the lanes and crashed into the northeast corner of Old Dock Road, according to police.
