With winds whipping between 20 and 30 mph and gusts approaching 65 mph in the area, thousands remain without power as utility crews scramble to restore service to the region.

On Friday, Feb. 8, State Police from Rhinebeck arrested Kevin P. McHugh, 50, of Rhinebeck, for DWI. He was traveling on Route 308 in Rhinebeck, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, and he was subsequently arrested.

Navy Chief Cryptologic Technician Shannon M. Kent, 35, who grew up in Pine Plains in Dutchess County, was a sailor assigned to Cryptologic Warfare Activity 66, based at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.
