25-Year-Old Killed In Two-Vehicle Route 9 Crash A 25-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash that occurred on a stretch of Route 9 on early Saturday morning, April 13, in Putnam County. At approximately 6:20 a.m., state police responded to northbound Route 9 north of State Route 301 in Philipstown. An initial investigation found that a 2018 Dodge Challenger operated by Isaiah Byars, age 25, of Derry, NH, was northbound on Route 9, and for unknown reasons entered the southbound lane, state police said.  Byars’ vehicle then struck a southbound 2015 Jeep Cherokee, according to police.
