Dog Receives 'Mysterious' Bite Wound While Playing In Fairfield County Yard
A Fairfield County dog received a mysterious bite wound while loose in a yard in Fairfield County. Monroe Animal Control said the incident happened on Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the area of Church Street, while the owner was cleaning off a gas grill and heard the dog yelp in the tree line of the yard. The dog's owner took the animal to a veterinary office who then called animal control to report a "wound of unknown origin," said Spc. Ofc. Edward Risko. Coyote Attacks Dog In Connecticut
A small dog on a leash was attacked by a rogue coyote in Connecticut over the weekend. Wolcott Animal Control issued an alert on Saturday, Nov. 2, cautioning pet owners not to let dogs or other pets outside alone without a leash following the latest attack on Idlewood Road. Officials said the owner of the dog was able to stave off the coyote and scare it away. Coyote Attacks Dog In New Canaan, Police Say
A small dog managed to survive after being attacked by a coyote in New Canaan. It happened on Sunday, Sept. 22 at approximately 5 p.m. on Shady Knoll Lane, New Canaan Police said. The dog owner was able to frighten the coyote and it dropped the dog. The dog suffered two punctures on the neck and ear, according to police. Police are warning residents after separate incidents in which coyotes killed one dog and attacked another in New Canaan. Both incidents occurred in the southwest area of town, police said. UPDATE: One dog died while another survived a weekend fire that severely damaged an Englewood home, authorities said. Authorities were trying to determine the cause of Saturday’s morning’s three-alarm West Demarest Avenue blaze, which did most of its damage to the kitchen and first floor of the 2½ -story home, City Fire Chief Erik S.
