Services Scheduled For Pearl River HS Student-Athlete Killed In Crash
Services have been announced for a Pearl River High School student-athlete killed in a horrific multi-vehicle crash.
A wake will be held from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, at F. Ruggiero & Sons Funeral Home, 732 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, for Altin Nezaj, 17, who died during a crash on Sunday, Oct. 13, that also killed another teen and critically injured another.
The funeral is planned for Wednesday, Oct. 16, although the time has yet to be announced, according to the funeral home.

Pearl River HS Offering Counseling In Wake Of Crash That Killed One Student, Injured Another
Students stunned over the death of one of their classmates at Pearl River High School and the serious injury of another will have access to grief counseling throughout the week.
Altin Nezaj, 17, a popular football and wrestler at the school, died during a multi-vehicle crash on Route 304 around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13. Also, critically injured in the crash was fellow PRHS student Aisha Radoncic. Another teen, Saniha Cekic of Brooklyn, also lost her life.

Police: Thief Busted After Lifting Keys From Gym Locker, Stealing BMW From Rockland Parking Lot
A New City man was busted for grand larceny after he allegedly stole a key fob at a local gym and then drove away in the 2013 BMW that was parked outside.
Michael T. Heidtman, 38, was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 24, following the incident that took place on Monday, Sept. 23, at the Vison Sports Club in Pearl River, said Orangetown Police Det. Sgt. James Sullivan.
According to Sullivan, Heidtman allegedly entered the gym locker room around 8:45 p.m., Monday and removed the set of keys which contained a fob to the BMW, Sullivan said.

Fair Lawn PD: Pearl River Ex-Con, Companion Had Heroin, Pellet Gun, Brass Knuckles
A Rockland ex-con and his companion were carrying heroin, a pellet gun and brass knuckles when they were stopped by Fair Lawn police, authorities said.
Wade Chindemi, 29, and passenger, Alyisa Em, 28, both of Pearl River, were sent to the Bergen County Jail after Officer Geovanny Buiton found the weapons in their car, along with heroin, pot and promethazine, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.
“More heroin was found in both of their clothing during a search,” Metzler said.
Police charged both Chindemi and Em with drug and weapons counts following the stop on Broadway at Tunbridge Road.
