Suspect Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting In Paterson
A man was shot and killed by a Passaic County sheriff's officer in an overnight confrontation Saturday with police in Paterson, authorities confirmed. Authorities recovered a loaded .45-caliber pistol near the body of Christopher Clark, 26, after he was shot on 16th Avenue around 1 a.m., state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said. Sheriff's officers were assisting city police on a report of shots fired, authorities said. Officers conducted CPR, but Clark was pronounced dead at the scene about a half hour later, they said. PATERSON, N.J. -- Passaic County sheriff's detectives grabbed a Paterson fugitive before he could make it out a window Monday morning during a raid that turned up 278 bags of crack and 310 envelopes of heroin, authorities said.
