Remains Found At Base Of Palisades Believed To Be Those Of Spring Jumper From Alaska
Severely decomposed remains found at the foot of the Palisades apparently are those of an Alaskan man whose van was left with a suicide note at the top of the cliffs more than eight months ago, authorities said. A passerby notified Palisades Interstate Parkway police after finding the skull in a wooded area at the base of the cliffs around 10 a.m. Dec. 22, PIP Police Lt. Raymond E. Walter said. School Bus Carrying Students Returning From Field Trip Crashes On Parkway In Hudson Valley
State police are investigating after a school bus carrying students on a field trip swerved to avoid another bus and crashed into a guide rail on a busy Hudson Valley roadway. The crash took place in Rockland County around 12:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 7, on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Stony Point. An investigation determined that a box truck traveling southbound on the parkway struck the Exit 16 overpass, said Trooper Steven Nevel, of the New York State Police. Lane Closures Scheduled For Stretch Of Parkway In Hudson Valley
Officials issued an alert about upcoming lane closures on a stretch of the Palisades Interstate Parkway. Single lane closures are planned in both directions of the parkway from the New Jersey State line in the Rockland County town of Orangetown to the Orange County line in Stony Point, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The closures are set to take place from Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Nov. 8, through Thursday, Nov. 17, to facilitate guide rail work, state officials said.

Closure Scheduled For Ramp On Parkway In Hudson Valley
State officials issued an alert about a planned ramp closure on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in the Hudson Valley. Motorists in Rockland County should expect the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway ramp to Exit 5N (State Route 303) in Orangetown to close on Thursday, Oct. 6 between 8 p.m. and midnight, the New York State Department of Transportation said.
