A driver had an Amazon delivery vest and several packages stolen from Fair Lawn in his car, said Paramus police who arrested him after he presented a bogus driver’s license as identification, authorities said. Clifton police released a video Friday in an effort to find someone who can positively identify a porch pirate who swiped packages while traveling in a commercial van. The Belgrade Avenue package thefts occurred around 11:30 a.m. Dec. 11, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said. A porch pirate was arrested in Westchester after getting busted stealing packages from a local home, police said. Bronx resident Jean Tapia, 33, has been arrested after allegedly stealing a package from a home in the Edgemont neighborhood, Greenburgh Police Sgt. Brian Matthews announced on Wednesday. Tapia was arrested this week and charged with one count of petit larceny. He has been booked at Greenburgh Police Headquarters and has since been released on bail. As the holiday season approaches police are investigating four different incidents of thefts of packages from doorsteps and expect more "porch pirates" to be on the prowl.
