Two men, believed to be part of an organized crime ring, were arrested after allegedly attempting to steal more than $1,800 in merchandise from a Fairfield County Stop & Shop.
Akanilli Dekattu, 23, of Brooklyn, and Tequan Robinson, 20, of New York City, were arrested on Sunday, Feb. 9, after Fairfield Police responded to a call from the store on Villa Avenue regarding the two men shoplifting large amounts of health and beauty products, said Fairfield Police.

Four family members and two workers at a Franklin Township convenience store have been indicted for running a retail theft ring, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said Friday.
Indicted were Somerset residents David Rubin, 61; Lisa Rubin, 54; Sherylee Rubin, 58; and Dunia Patricia Hernandez, 32. Also indicted were Batsheva Rubin-Rivera, 24, of New Brunswick; and Andre Watts, 30, of North Brunswick.

Another person has been arrested in connection with a multi-state retail theft ring that allegedly has stolen more than $90,000 in goods.
Jahliil Parrott, 22, of Windsor, was arrested on Monday, Dec. 16, after New Canaan Police traveled to Nassau County, New York, where he was being held on robbery charges, said New Canaan Police Department Lt. Jason Ferraro.
The ring's operation first came to light in Fairfield County in October when three suspects allegedly stole merchandise from the Ralph Lauren Store in New Canaan, stealing more than $300 worth of goods, said Ferraro.

Duo Accused Of Stealing Thousands In Items From Greenwich Avenue Business Caught After Chase
Two men were arrested in connection with a shoplifting incident at a Greenwich Avenue business.
Antoine Whitney, 28, and Shakur Smikle, 18, both of Brooklyn, were arrested on Sunday, Nov. 17, by Greenwich Police after an officer saw the two in a vehicle with others who walked into the business and exited running carrying baskets of items, Greenwich Police said.
According to police, Whitney, who the driver of the vehicle, attempted to leave the scene after being told to stop by officers. He was then stopped by a marked patrol vehicle and backed up unsafely through a stop sign, police said.
