$2.3M Settlement Reached In Crash With DWI Off-Duty Central Jersey Officer: Report
A Central Jersey man who nearly died after a drunken off-duty police officer plowed into his car has reached a $2.25 million settlement, NJ Advance Media reports. Amadeo Sosa, then 56, of Perth Amboy was sitting in his car behind a disabled dump truck on the side of Route 9 in Old Bridge on Dec. 18, 2018, when then Sayreville Police Sgt. Jeffrey P. Kutz slammed into his vehicle, the outlet said. Authorities have charged two people and identified the innocent victim killed by car thieves during a wild police pursuit in Old Bridge on Wednesday, Nov. 9. 1 Killed, 3 Hurt In Crash During Central Jersey Police Chase
One person was killed and three others were hurt in a crash that occurred during a police chase, authorities said. The Attorney General’s Office is investigating the crash on Route 9 south in Old Bridge after a Marlboro police officer attempted to stop a vehicle at 2:14 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9. The vehicle being pursued struck unrelated civilian vehicles. It was a suspect in an attempted car theft. The identities of the decedent and the other individuals are not being released at this time. Driver Killed In Route 9 Central Jersey Crash: Report
One person was killed and another seriously hurt when a vehicle crossed the Route 9 median and struck a pickup truck, according to ABC 7 News. A southbound driver lost control of the car and veered into the northbound lanes at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 near Old Bridge High School and Middle School, the outlet says. State Police ID Driver Killed In Garden State Parkway Crash
A 39-year-old driver from Teaneck was killed in an overnight crash on the Garden State Parkway in Central Jersey, authorities said. Gabriel Farias was heading north in a Mini Cooper next to a Jeep Grand Cherokee when the two vehicles sideswiped each other around 12:26 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19 near exit 120 in Old Bridge, New Jersey State Police said. The Mini Cooper then struck a concrete barrier, a guardrail and subsequently overturned, police said. Farias died as a result of the crash, authorities said. There is an ongoing investigation.
