19: Air Travelers From Quarantined States Now Must Register After Arriving In NY
Air travelers from 19 states with high COVID-19 infection rates who are required to quarantine for two weeks after arriving in New York and Connecticut will now have to register at the airport. They will be required to complete a form telling officials where they are coming from and where they plan to quarantine. The policy will go into effect in New York on Tuesday, July 14, Gov. Travelers from 19 states with high novel coronavirus (COVID-19) positive testing rates who fail to quarantine for two weeks after arriving in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut could face large fines and, in some cases, even jail time. Travelers from three more states with high positive testing rates for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have now been added to the joint quarantine order for out-of-state travelers to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The newly-added states as of Tuesday, July 7 are Delaware, Kansas and Oklahoma, bringing the total number of states on the list to 19. The USDA announced a recall of more than 20,000 pounds of beef patties that were shipped to restaurants and schools nationwide and may be contaminated with pieces of plastic.
