Brick Woman Who Stabbed Fiancé In Self-Defense Sentenced To Four Years Prison
A 28-year-old woman who stabbed her fiancé in self-defense was sentenced to four years in state prison, authorities said. Ciara Williams of Brick previously pleaded guilty on July 2 to reckless manslaughter for the Sept. 29, 2019, stabbing. She was sentenced on Wednesday by Superior Court Judge Rochelle Gizinski. A 54-year-old man was being held in the Ocean County Jail in connection with Wednesday night's fatal assault at a popular Jersey Shore diner that left another dead. Robert Clarke, 78, of Manchester was airlifted to an area hospital after the 7:30 p.m. incident at the Lakeside Diner in Lacey Township, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. A 57-year-old man from Jackson Township has returned money stolen from an Ocean County Little League and been sentenced to community service, authorities said. An elementary school media specialist and mother of three was identified Saturday as the victim of a fatal house fire. Sara Trahey, 33, could not be rescued from the fast-moving fire at her home in Toms River. Her husband, Jeff, and their three young children managed to escape as firefighters arrived late Friday night.
