ARL: Dog Dumped On Side Of The Road With Second-Degree Burns In Norwood The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) is helping a 1-year-old dog who was found suffering from severe burns to 20% of its body this week in Norwood. Annie was found with second-degree burns to her head, neck, shoulders, front limbs and abdomen along Route 1 around Ellis Avenue, the ARL said. She was wearing a leash and collar but did not have any tags or microchip. Concerned for her welfare, Norwood Police brought Annie to the ARL where she was later transferred to an animal hospital in Walpole. The single-engine Piper PA-32 departed from Norwood Regional Airport in Norwood, Mass., and was headed toward Montgomery County Airpark in Gaithersburg, the FAA said. The plane landed safely around 11 a.m. in Teterboro after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit, authorities said.  The FAA is conducting the investigation.
