The crash occurred when a box truck headed southbound hit the rear of a Nissan Altima at milepost 115.6 on the southbound side of the highway at 2:14 p.m. in Ridgefield Saturday, New Jersey State Police Trooper Goez said. Garbage IN, Garbage OUT: Trash Truck Overturns In Elizabeth Monday The Turnpike southbound near Exit 13 was partly blocked early Monday afternoon as Elizabeth firefighters and other first-responders dealt with a real mess of a traffic accident.  A truck hauling what appeared to be construction waste toppled over, spilling debris across the roadway.  It took about two hours to clean up the mess, the Elizabeth Fire Officers union said in a statement. Jersey City Man, 36, Killed In Newark Crash A motorist died after a collision with a tractor-trailer in Newark Wednesday afternoon, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.  Jason Mullins, a 36-year-old from Jersey City, was traveling west on Raymond Boulevard near Chapel St. around 2:10 p.m. in a Chevy Trax when the crash occurred.  The driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the scene.  The accident occurred not far from a junction of major roadways including Rt. 1&9 and the Turnpike.
