State Police: Hunterdon County Woman, 46, Struck, Killed By Car While Crossing Route 31
A Hunterdon County woman was struck by a car and killed while crossing Route 31 in Hampton Borough Friday evening, state police said.
Tara Temby, 46, was crossing the southbound lanes of the highway when she was hit by a Saturn driven by a 70-year-old Glen Gardner man near milepost 38.4 shortly before 7:30 p.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry said.
Temby, of Flemington, was pronounced dead at the scene, Curry said.
No traffic resulted from the two-and-a-half-hour closure of the right lane following the accident, authorities said.
The incident remains under investigation, authorities said.

A 1-year-old boy was killed and a 3-year-old boy suffered serious injuries when an Amazon truck struck a Maryland family’s vehicle from behind late Friday on the New Jersey Turnpike in Cranbury, authorities said.
Young Messiah Gray and the other boy were passengers in a Toyota Camry driven by 24-year-old Kazara P. Leacock, who sustained injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, as did passenger Cheryl Leacock, 64, NJ State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said.
