Woman Airlifted To Hospital After Struck By Car In Huntington Station Hit-Run Crash
Police are searching for the driver who struck and seriously injured a 39-year-old woman on Long Island. The crash happened in Huntington Station at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29. A woman was trying to cross New York Avenue near the Huntington Public Library when she was hit by the car that left the scene by traveling south, authorities said. Federal officials are investigating allegations that Hertz rented suspect vehicles to customers without getting recommended required recall repairs for several years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued an alert on Tuesday, Dec. 20 advising that Hertz had previously rented Nissan and Ford vehicles that were not properly repaired during recent recalls. A woman suffered critical injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Long Island. The crash happened in North Amityville at about 5:50 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, the Suffolk County Police Department said. Nasir Reid, of Lynbrook, was killed on Tuesday, Nov. 29 during a three-vehicle crash in Lynbrook, said the Nassau County Police. A 63-year-old man died after crashing a car into a semi-truck at a rest area in Connecticut. The crash happened in New Haven County in the Milford Rest Area on I-95 southbound near Exit 41 at about 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, Connecticut State Police reported.
