Winning $825,000 Lottery Ticket Sold At CT Convenience Store
A winning lottery ticket valued at $825,000 was sold at a Connecticut store.
An unnamed Massachusetts resident, from Worcester, claimed the "$1,000,000 Emeralds" prize from a ticket sold in Windham County, Connecticut Lottery announced on Monday, Aug. 22.
The ticket was purchased in the town of Thompson at the XtraMart, located at 9 Woodstock Ave., CT Lottery said.

CT Dad Hit With Additional Horrific Child Abuse Charges, Police Say
A Connecticut man who was charged with alleged child abuse has been hit with additional charges after new horrific abuse came to light.
New Haven County resident Kevin Grant, age 33, of Naugatuck, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 10, after new charges surfaced in connection with his Oct. 2020 arrest for subjecting his children to brutal physical punishments.
The new charges were released to police on Friday, May 13, said the Naugatuck Police.
Grant, who is awaiting trial on the original charges, was taken into custody at Superior Court in Waterbury, police said.

A drunk Connecticut woman was charged with assault after she allegedly broke into a home, drank alcohol from the refrigerator, and then bit an officer and an EMT when they attempted to arrest her, according to police.
The incident took place in New Haven County around 2 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, in Naugatuck.

Connecticut Lottery announced the latest residents who claimed major prizes.
An unnamed New Haven County resident, from Naugatuck, claimed a $1,000,000 prize from a "Win up to $5,000 a month for life second edition" ticket purchased at Stop One Mart LLC, the lottery reported on Monday, Aug. 8.
CT Lottery said the store is at the Mobil gas station, located at 282 South Main St. in Naugatuck.
