Everyone OK In Overnight East Rutherford House Fire
Fears of a possibly trapped resident proved unfounded during an overnight house fire in East Rutherford. First-floor residents were vacating the two-family home on Rose Street near Paterson Avenue as first responders arrived at 2:35 a.m., Police Capt. Jeff Yannacone said. A search determined there was no one home upstairs, where the two-alarm kitchen fire originated, he said. Firefighters had the fire doused in under a half hour. No injuries were reported. Two firefighters were injured when part of a ceiling collapsed during a fire that destroyed a vacant garden apartment Thursday morning in Hasbrouck Heights, responders said. The injuries didn't appear life-threatening, they said, after the Skyline Apartments blaze at 20 Terrace Avenue was doused shortly before 10:30 a.m. May 11. Firefighters doused a smoky house blaze that began in the basement of a Rutherford home. No one was injured in the fire, which broke out in the two-story, two-family house on Springfield Avenue shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 9. Two Massive Fires Erupt In Hudson County
Two massive fires broke out Wednesday, Feb. 8 in Hudson County. The first was five alarms, and erupted in one of the shops on Bergenline Avenue sometime after 4:15 a.m. in West New York between 61st and 62nd streets. Firefighters doused a house blaze in Teaneck. They were met by heavy flames on the first floor and in the walls of the 2½-story wood-frame home on Downing Street just off Victoria Road shortly before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4. The main body of the fire was knocked down within 15 minutes. It was declared under control a short time later. Mutual aid responders at the scene or in coverage included firefighters from Bogota, Englewood, Hackensack and Rigefield Park. No injuries were reported.
