Duo Charged Face Larceny, Conspiracy, ID Theft Charges, Darien Police Say
Two men have been charged with larceny, conspiracy and trespassing in Darien, according to police.
A “concerned citizen” contacted Darien Police on Wednesday, Sept. 4 around 2 p.m.
The caller stated that she observed a light-colored vehicle with New York plates pull into a home that is uninhabited and on the market across from her residence, police say.
The occupants of the vehicle allegedly left a note on the door of the residence which, according to the caller, provided directions to leave a package on the step, giving the addressee and tracking number, police say.

Monroe Man Shot To Death Attempted To Stab Shooter First, Police Say
A Fairfield County man who was shot and killed during an argument allegedly attempted to stab the person who shot him first, according to Bridgeport Police.
Jose Perez-Ortiz, 41, of Monroe, was killed around 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 1, outside a store at Shelton Street and Noble Avenue, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police
According to Jones, video surveillance in the area shows Perez-Ortiz attempting to stab a man who then pulled a gun and fired, striking him.
First responders rushed Perez-Ortiz to Bridgeport Hospital where he later died, Jones said.

Many Still Without Power After Strong Storms Rip Through Fairfield County
Hundreds in Connecticut are still without power following a spate of strong thunderstorms that struck the area.
As of 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 375 of Eversource’s customers were still without power, while 424 of United Illuminating customers were reporting outages.
On Monday, more than 5,000 outages were reported throughout Connecticut.
In Fairfield County, outages were still reported in Brookfield, Fairfield, Greenwich, Monroe, Newtown, Norwalk, Ridgefield, Shelton, Straton, Weston, and Westport.

'Overly Aggressive' Door-To-Door Salesman In Area Faces Charges, Police Say
A door-to-door salesman who was scaring residents in Monroe has been arrested for his "overly aggressive tactics" and for not having a license, police said.
Jamarcus Styles, 22, of Atlanta, Georgia, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 13, after Monroe Police received calls from residents on Lazy Brook Road, said Monroe Police Lt. Stephen Corrone.
The first call came in around 5:25 p.m. from a resident reporting that Styles was acting aggressively.
